LOVE

LOVE is located in the East Side of LA. LOVE is meant to symbolize the mindset that you need to go into these more improvished areas when going East on Imperial.

The church that the mural is located on is very personal to artist Michael Norice. He was born on 113th street, in which is behind the church. This exact church was where him, his mom and older sister would get goverment cheese as a child. During this time in 1985-1986 Norice and his mom and sister experienced homelessness living out of his mom's car. Soon after they moved to Fresno.

Norice was looking for his second location for a mural after the positive response of the first mural FORGIVENESS. After driving down Imperial, this wall stood out to him and it happened to be the same church from his childhood-- it was a full circle moment. This church also received a lot of positive response after the completion of the mural and it is now known as the LOVE church.

Love is the next step to Forgiveness. Once you learn to forgive yourself you learn to love yourself. It was the follow up message to the first mural FORGIVENESS.
